Over the last 10 years, Poles have tripled their share of the property market in Spain. In absolute terms, this translates to thousands of houses, villas and flats purchased – 15,585 in the last 5 years alone. Our compatriots’ preferences and motivations for choosing the Costa del Sol are increasingly linked to the search for a safe haven – in an era of conflict in the Middle East, war in Ukraine and global uncertainty.
Journalists from „El Economista”, Vicente Nieves and Mario Becedas, have analysed the growing presence of Poles in the Spanish property market – highlighting, among other things, how our compatriots are becoming wealthy investors seeking to diversify their assets. As they emphasised, thanks to the Polish economic boom, „money is finding refuge in Spanish property”, and one of the main motivations is the security offered by regions such as the Costa del Sol.
In the pages of „El Economista”, Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa, founder of Agnes Inversiones – the largest and oldest Polish estate agency on the Costa del Sol – discussed, amongst other things:
- key locations on the Costa del Sol where it is worth looking for top-of-the-range apartments or penthouses,
- the price ranges within which Polish property buyers operate on the Costa del Sol,
- the supply of new residential developments on the Costa del Sol – compared with the secondary market.
