Nowadays, an increasingly important reason for moving to the Costa del Sol is security, or more precisely the search for a safe haven. This is precisely the region of Spain, which is also renowned for its developed infrastructure and friendly climate. Read on to find out why you should choose the Costa del Sol for your new home.
What will you read about in this note?
- The share of Polish investors in the Spanish real estate market is increasing – every year our compatriots buy several thousand houses and flats.
- The security of the Costa del Sol is a factor cited by property buyers at a time of geopolitical uncertainty.
- Buying property in Spain is a form of geographical diversification of assets.
- Spain’s high level of medical care, the wide range of international schools on offer, the well-developed infrastructure or the unique microclimate , which provides more than 320 days of sunshine a year, are other advantages of Marbella.
Costa del Sol attracts Poles
Data from the Registradores de España shows that since the beginning of 2021, our compatriots have purchased more than 13,500 houses and flats in Spain. In the first half of this year alone, the number of property purchases by Poles amounted to more than 2,000 – 2,083 to be exact. In the second quarter of 2025, this meant a 4.5 per cent share among foreign buyers.
The province of Malaga, with its famous Costa del Sol and the 'Golden Triangle’ formed by Marbella, Estepona and Benahavis, is very popular. It is here that you will find the most luxurious properties with prices reaching several or even tens of millions of euros. At the same time, there is no shortage of offers with prices starting as low as €350-400,000 per flat.
Costa del Sol as a safe haven in times of uncertainty
Why the Costa del Sol? Especially in recent times, many property buyers on the Costa del Sol point to security – as the main reason for deciding to buy a house or flat in the region. This is because it is one of the furthest places on the continent from the war in Ukraine, as more than 4,000 kilometres separate them by land.
The choice of Spain is also part of the geographical diversification of assets. All the more so as the property market here is more stable than the Polish one, and villas, flats or penthouses on the Costa del Sol create value in themselves. Successive reports, including those by Lucas Fox, Knight Frank or IQI Global, point to the growing role of Marbella and the province of Malaga as a leader in the luxury property market, where it is safe to invest.
