Another Polish record on the Spanish property market coincided with the 18th anniversary of Agnes Inversiones – the largest, oldest and most recognisable Polish real estate office on the Costa del Sol. This is an opportunity to take stock, but also to present new products.
How have 18 years gone?
As Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa points out, the launch of Agnes Inversiones in 2006 took place in a completely different market reality. 2008 was the year of the global financial crisis and the accompanying economic collapse particularly affected the property market in Spain. As the economy improved, the interest of Poles in investing on the Costa del Sol grew, but they were not recorded in official statistics at the time due to their small market share.
Annually, Agnes Inversiones handles more than 150 transactions for the purchase and sale of houses and flats, and the most expensive of these properties was worth more than €10 million. It is also the only company with Polish roots to be a member of the Leading Property Agents of Spain (LPA), an association of leading luxury property agents on the Costa del Sol. For its 18th anniversary, Agnes Inversiones is unveiling a new logo and website.
Poles conquer Spain
– Marbella has developed over the years, and as the needs of the market have grown, among other things the airport in Malaga has been expanded, and the number of connections to Poland – direct from most cities – has also increased significantly. Today, the leading banks issue loan information in Polish, whereas once upon a time it was even necessary to translate where our country is located. All this shows how strong a position Poles have today in Spain and in the local property market,” says Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa.
In 2019, the share of Poles in the Spanish property market oscillated at 1.6% – at that time they purchased just over 1,000 houses and flats. In 2022, it was already over 3% and close to 3,000 properties, and in the so far record year 2023.– 3.57% and 3,118 properties. Registradores de España data from the first (3.72%) and second quarters of 2024 (4.63%) indicate that the next few months could bring a new Polish record in Spain.
