The Independence Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Polish Business Council – Wojciech Kostrzewa – was another golfing event on the Costa del Sol in red and white. On 10 and 11 November, more than 90 golfers competed on the Rio Real and Santa Clara Golf Club courses in Marbella, creating a unique atmosphere of sporting rivalry.

Independence Tournament with a record-breaking line-up
This year’s edition of the Independence Golf Tournament in Marbella again attracted an impressive group – this time as many as 92 passionate golfers. One of the prizes – for the best score obtained over the two days of competition – was sponsored by the Polish Ambassador in Madrid, Monika Krzepkowska, who accepted the invitation to participate in the tournament. Other participants included the President of the PGA Poland, Piotr Owczarek, as well as Mariusz Czerkawski and Bartłomiej Topa.
After an exciting game in beautiful sunny weather, the winners of the Independence Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Polish Business Roundtable – Wojciech Kostrzewa – were announced:
- in the gross category: Radek Ciesielski,
- In the stableford net category in their respective handicap groups, the winners were: Agnieszka Bednarczyk, Anna Fołtarz, Daniel Raemy, Maciej Gościniak and Tomasz Wiatrak,
- Among the members of the Polish Business Roundtable, Rafał Brzoska won, ahead of Michał Szramowski and Jacek Poświata.

Golf competition on the Costa del Sol settled
From 6-8 November, the Independence Tournament was preceded by a team competition, this year for the first time played in the Ryder Cup format on the El Higueral and Los Arqueros fields. The three-day competition between the teams: the Marbella East – led by captain Wojciech Kostrzewa and the Marbella West – led by captain Artur Kazienko, ended in a 20:20 draw.
It was therefore necessary to have extra time between the captains on hole number one, which Artur Kazienko decided in his favour, thus taking a rematch of 2023. Thus, after three years of domination by the Marbella East team, the cup went to the West team for the first time.
The MRBL team – headed by Adrian Kaczała and Wojciech Senger – was responsible for the organisational side of both tournaments held in Marbella. Agnes Inversiones was one of the sponsors. Agnes Kostrzewa actively participated in the game during the tournaments.
The next tournament, which deservedly occupies an important place in the calendar of golf matches for the Polish community in Spain, will be in 2026, when its 10th anniversary edition awaits us. In turn, the two teams will play a rematch in the Ryder Cup format in 2027.
